Exactly these habits are a Cleanroom a NO-GO. It is important to completely clean or disinfect cleanroom surfaces. The cleaning staff are faced with the problem that the surfaces are only contaminated by invisible particles and they cannot see where they have already cleaned or which piece they may have overlooked. These movements cause the particles to be dispersed further, or not even picked up in the first place! The best way to learn the correct procedure is in a practical training course. There, the techniques for cleaning a cleanroom are explained and the successes and errors are made visible using UV light.
So how do you do it properly?
Wipe with special low-abrasion cleanroom wipes that are tailored to the surface and the intended use.
A precisely defined wiping technique is then used:
- The surface is always wiped in overlapping strips from one edge to the other in the same direction.
=> This prevents a spot from being left out - Finally, the start and end points of the cleaning lanes are wiped crosswise at a 90° angle in one lane each
=> This removes any soiling not picked up when the cloths are placed and lifted - After each lane, the cloth is folded over using a defined folding technique so that a fresh side is always used for wiping. The cloth is then replaced.
=> This prevents contamination from being transferred from the cloth to other areas
How can you check whether the surfaces have been cleaned properly?
UV lamps are used during cleanroom training and in quality control. The cleaning cloths are soaked in a colorless liquid with UV pigments. A colorless liquid with UV pigments is spread over the table and wiped with the cleaning cloths in the trained sequence. Every incorrect movement and every uncleaned area leaves a clear mark.
