In cleanroom production, every detail counts. Incorrect ejection can introduce impurities and jeopardize the entire process. A customer from the pharmaceutical packaging industry faced precisely this challenge: how can produced packaging parts be ejected fully automatically from the Cleanroom without jeopardizing the cleanliness of the Cleanroom?
The solution: A specially designed, encapsulated conveyor belt system with integrated air filtration – a custom-made product that guarantees maximum process reliability.
The challenge: Efficient discharge without the risk of contamination
Conventional material locks often require manual handling, which is not only time-consuming but also carries the risk of contamination. Our customer needed a solution that:
- Fully automatic operation – without manual intervention
- Highest purity standards fulfilled – without particle entry
- Efficiency and safety combined – for trouble-free processes
Our company’s engineers developed a customized special solution that meets all these requirements.
The solution: 3 separate conveyor belts with automatic control of lifting doors as an airlock function
At the heart of this development is an encapsulated conveyor belt that automatically passes through the material lock and integrates seamlessly into the cleanroom process.
This is how the system works:
- Production: The packaging parts are shrink-wrapped in bags directly after production and transferred to the conveyor belt.
- Encapsulation: The entire conveyor section is completely enclosed to prevent particle emissions.
- Protection through passive air flow: there are two automatically controlled lifting doors within the airlock, which enable airlock control per bag and thus prevent a complete short circuit of the air by opening a door. The chambers of the airlock sections are each passively purged by the cleanroom pressure
- Automated ejection: To prevent particles from entering from outside, the system is equipped with an intelligent control system that guarantees alternately closed gates.
Advantages of automated ejection:
- Increased efficiency: The fully automated process eliminates the need for manual intervention, which speeds up production processes.
- Ensuring the cleanroom class: The controlled air flow prevents contamination of the sensitive production environment while maintaining the cleanroom pressure.
- Flexibility: The system can be used for different packaging sizes and quantities
- Safety: The ejection system has various manually selectable modes so that the conveyor belts can be cleaned regularly. Light barriers detect the respective bags and eject them reliably.
