Can staff in the cleanroom take drinks to the workplace?
Unfortunately, the answer is no in the majority of cases. Water dispensers outside the cleanroom, e.g. in the personnel airlock, offer an opportunity to drink water.
If you’re thirsty in the office on a hot day, you simply reach for a bottle of water. It’s not so easy in the cleanroom. The rule there is: no drinks, no food – for good reason. Even the smallest particles could endanger sensitive processes. A face mask is often even mandatory at all times.
Thirsty in the cleanroom? Just go out and have a drink? That is also not possible without further ado. Because anyone leaving the cleanroom has to get out and back in again – including several changes of clothes and thorough disinfection. This can quickly take 15 minutes or more.
Especially in summer, this becomes a challenge.
A simple but effective solution: a water dispenser with disposable drinking cups – outside the cleanroom, e.g. in the personnel airlock. This keeps the process safe – and the team refreshed.
