What is a cleanroom?

Cleanrooms are enclosed, controlled production environments in industrial manufacturing. They protect sensitive components and parts from loss of quality due to dust and dirt.

With “VDA19.2 – Technical cleanliness in assembly”, the German Association of the Automotive Industry published a guideline in 2010 that classifies different levels of cleanliness. The aim of this guideline is to help users to avoid critical particle contamination at sensitive points.

CNC Cleanrooms and cleanrooms differ primarily in terms of the particle sizes permitted. Due to the less complex filter and ventilation technology, the construction costs of a CNC Cleanroom are significantly lower and operation is cheaper than that of a cleanroom.
