ISO 14644-1 defines the degree of air purity by determining limit values for the maximum permissible particle concentration per m³ and assigns these to cleanroom classes ISO 1 – 9. Cleanliness class 1 is the cleanest, i.e. the maximum permissible particle concentration is the lowest.
