An airlock bench is a type of bench used in personnel airlocks to facilitate the change of clothing and the demarcation of areas with different levels of cleanliness. The airlock bench also serves as a physical barrier to floor contamination and as storage space for shoes. An airlock bench can also be referred to as a swing-over bench or sit-over bench because you sit on it and swing your feet over the bench to get to the cleaner area.
