Schilling Engineering receives the “Oscar” of the economy
Schilling Engineering GmbH has been building modular cleanroom systems for over 20 industries, such as pharmaceuticals, medical technology, microtechnology and aerospace, for 22 years. The medium-sized company from Wutöschingen in Baden-Württemberg specializes in designing and manufacturing according to customer requirements. With its self-developed, high-quality cleanroom technology, the company has enjoyed continuous growth and today employs 70 staff and 9 trainees.
Schilling Engineering has now been honored by the Oskar Patzelt Foundation as the 2020 winner of the “Großer Preis des Mittelstandes” award competition. The Grand Prize for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises has been regarded as Germany’s most important and prestigious business award for years, for which 4970 companies were nominated nationwide in 2020. Since 1994, the prize has been awarded to outstanding medium-sized companies that are not only economically successful, but also stand out for their innovations, job creation and job security, exemplary working atmosphere, environmental awareness and social and societal commitment.
Fourteen companies from all over Germany, including three companies from Baden-Württemberg, were recognized as winners according to these criteria. For the family business Schilling Engineering, winning the competition is a very special award that underlines the innovative strength and economic importance of SMEs.
At a festive gala at the Maritim Hotel in Würzburg, Managing Director Günther Schilling was beaming as he accepted the winning statue. “We are delighted. This award is a wonderful recognition of our work and our company,” said Günther Schilling happily, “We would like to thank everyone who nominated us for this prestigious competition. But a very special thank you goes to all our employees, without them we would not have received the “Grand Prize”.
