Code of Conduct
The SCHILLING ENGINEERING Group cultivates a reliable, value-driven corporate culture.
The basic prerequisite for this is that all laws and internal regulations are complied with by the SCHILLING ENGINEERING Group and its employees. This Code of Conduct is therefore primarily aimed at all employees of the SCHILLING ENGINEERING Group as a ‘corporate constitution’ and is intended to summarize the essential regulations and conduct requirements in a comprehensible manner.
Compliance with these basic principles is also expected of the SCHILLING ENGINEERING Group’s business partners. Business partners of the SCHILLING ENGINEERING Group are responsible for communicating the requirements of this Code of Conduct to their own employees and suppliers and ensuring compliance.
1. SCOPE OF APPLICATION
This Code of Conduct applies to all managing directors, executives and employees (hereinafter referred to as “employees”) of the SCHILLING ENGINEERING group of companies (hereinafter referred to as “SCHILLING”).
At the same time, SCHILLING also requires its business partners to comply with the basic principles set out in this Code of Conduct.
2. BASIC PRINCIPLES
Compliance with laws and standards
SCHILLING complies with the applicable rights and laws of the countries in which SCHILLING operates.
SCHILLING employees are obliged to know and observe the basic laws and regulations that are relevant to them. These include, in particular, data protection regulations and regulations regarding correct competitive behavior as well as the applicable internal company regulations.
Equal treatment
In all employment decisions, including hiring and promotions, compensation, fringe benefits, training, layoffs and terminations, all employees and applicants are treated strictly on the basis of their skills and qualifications.
Discriminatory behavior towards employees and applicants on the grounds of ethical or national origin, skin color, gender, religion or ideology, disability, age, sexual identity or other grounds covered by the prohibition of discrimination will not be tolerated.
Product quality and product safety
Our core task is to manufacture and offer cleanroom systems on the market. As a responsible company, we always ensure a high level of product quality and safety. To this end, we have introduced a quality management system in the company and certify it regularly.
Fair competition
SCHILLING supports fair and undistorted competition in compliance with competition and antitrust law.
This means, for example, that no employee may hold discussions with competitors in which prices or services are agreed or other prohibited agreements on market behavior are made. Agreements with business partners and third parties on non-competition or on the allocation of customers and territories are also prohibited. Improper preferential treatment or the exclusion of contractual partners is also prohibited.
Anti-corruption
In all SCHILLING business relationships, the principle applies that no employee may provide business partners or third parties with undue advantages or attempt to do so.
The value of promotional gifts must be such that their acceptance does not place the recipient under any obligation and does not create the appearance of dishonesty or impropriety.
It is also prohibited to accept benefits that can be assumed to influence business decisions or transactions. In particular, this includes personal gifts or benefits resulting from SCHILLING’s business relationships. Invitations must remain within the limits of customary business hospitality.
Money laundering and terrorist financing
We strictly reject money laundering and terrorist financing. To this end, verifying the identity of business partners is particularly important to us. We always observe the applicable laws in this regard in all our business relationships. In particular, this includes compliance with trade, export and import laws.
Protection of company property
SCHILLING property should be used responsibly and appropriately. The private use of company property is strictly prohibited.
The protection of intellectual property is of essential importance to SCHILLING. This includes confidential information, business secrets, copyrights, brands, logos, customer lists and customer applications.
Conflicts of interest
SCHILLING expects loyalty from its employees. Employees are therefore particularly prohibited from taking a stake in a competitor’s or business partner’s company if this could lead to a conflict of interest.
Fair working conditions
SCHILLING complies with the statutory regulations to ensure fair working conditions. This also includes the regulations on remuneration, working hours and the protection of privacy.
Any form of forced labor or child labor is excluded.
Health and safety at work
Occupational safety is of great importance to us. Therefore, high standards for a safe and hygienic working environment, which are based on legal regulations, are a high priority for us. The aim is always to improve working conditions through appropriate procedures. Health and safety regulations must be observed by every employee. Regular training courses are held to impart the relevant knowledge. In addition, working time planning ensures that the necessary breaks are taken.
Environmental protection
SCHILLING attaches great importance to the application and continuous improvement of environmentally friendly business practices, which include in particular the responsible and sustainable use of natural resources. The use and consumption of resources during production and the generation of all types of waste, including water and energy, must be reduced or avoided. To this end, we have introduced an environmental management system in the company and certify it regularly.
Harmful changes to the soil, water and air pollution, noise emissions and excessive water consumption must be avoided if this harms the health of people, significantly impairs the natural basis for food production or prevents people from having access to safe drinking water or sanitary facilities.
SCHILLING follows a systematic approach to identify, handle, reduce and responsibly dispose of or recycle solid waste. Chemicals or other materials that pose a risk if released into the environment must be identified and handled in such a way that safety is ensured when handling, transporting, storing, using, recycling or reusing and disposing of these substances.
Social responsibility
As an owner-managed, medium-sized company, SCHILLING has a special social responsibility, which is implemented through social and cultural commitment as well as regional activities at the company locations.
Donations and sponsorship funds are only granted within the framework of the respective legal system and in accordance with the applicable internal regulations.
Financial responsibility
Our financial reporting is based on the relevant legal regulations and standards. Appropriate documentation is kept on business processes in order to secure all relevant information. Any records of company facts that are published or used solely for internal documentation must be complete, correct, accurate, timely and comprehensible.
Data protection
In order to do justice to the protection of personal data, we take all necessary measures to ensure that the collection, processing and use of personal data in our company complies with the applicable legal provisions of data protection law. All this with the aim of avoiding improper and prohibited use and creating a framework of confidentiality and integrity within the company.
3. IMPLEMENTATION AND SANCTIONS
This Code of Conduct reflects the fundamental corporate values of SCHILLING. All employees must base their actions on these basic principles. Managers must ensure that the employees assigned to them know and comply with the content of this Code of Conduct.
If anything is unclear, employees can always contact their respective supervisors or personnel managers at SCHILLING.
Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in criminal as well as labor and civil law measures. Not only SCHILLING, but also the individual employee can expect sanctions. Managers can also be held responsible if they fail to detect violations in their area and this failure is due to inadequate supervision of their assigned employees.
