The Küssaberg volunteer fire department does an outstanding job - not only in emergencies, but also through its constant operational readiness and its contribution to safety in the region. In 2023, the firefighters were called out to a total of 32 incidents.

The most important mountain rescue station in Baden-Württemberg is located on the Feldberg. Up to 500 mountain rescue missions are carried out from here every year and hikers, climbers and winter sports enthusiasts in distress are helped quickly and unbureaucratically.
