How small is a corona virus?

This diagram clearly shows how small the particles are that are removed from a clean room.

Alpha, Delta, Omikron ... The corona viruses are not leaving us alone yet.

You can't see them, but how small are they really?
Since our work revolves around the smallest particles that are invisible to the naked eye, we have tried our hand at an illustration.

A corona virus has an approximate size of 0.1 µm.

  • Imagine a grain of fine dust lying on a hair (yellow balls).
  • There is still room for a great many bacteria on this grain (blue spheres).
  • And on each bacterium, in turn, huge numbers of viruses could settle (red spheres).

That's how small viruses are.
