Residual dirt particles

Residual dirt particles are impurities that remain on the surface of a component. They can originate from various sources, such as machining processes, vendor parts or packaging materials. Residual dirt particles can impair the quality and function of components by, for example, causing abrasion, clogging holes or hindering coatings. Technical cleanliness is a measure of the quantity and type of residual dirt particles on a component.
